“A lot of my pieces have been a slow evolution of techniques learned over the years, using traditional silversmith techniques combined with modern design
The name ‘Silverbeat’ literally comes from the process to “beat” silver, by hammering and working with the silver this process adds character which in turn creates a unique piece of jewellery. Silverbeat also reflects my organic approach to design as in the Silverbeet plant itself each piece is inspired by the organic forms of nature, from the detail in the leaves in the hinterland to the texture of the shells found on our shorelines.
Each piece of jewellery is handmade using recycled 925 sterling silver and is made to last a lifetime. Being solid sterling silver (not plated) silver can over time naturally lose its shine or oxydize but with care it can be brought back to its former glory time and time again. That is why I love working with silver as it is so versatile.
